Russia's nighttime attack on Kharkiv: Seven injured, including child
Seven people were injured in Kharkiv as a result of a Russian airstrike overnight on October 28. Among them is a child, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).
Emergency services reported that rescue operations continue at the site of the attack.
"Last night, the enemy attacked Kharkiv, resulting in casualties. Preliminary reports indicate that seven people were injured, including one child," stated the SES.
The SES noted that the airstrike by Russian forces partially destroyed apartments on the upper floor of a nine-story building, and windows were shattered throughout the structure.
"Psychologists from the SES worked at the impact site, providing necessary assistance to those affected," the SES reported.
Additionally, the emergency services mentioned that over 25 rescuers and six units of SES equipment were deployed to address the consequences of the attack.

Later, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on his Telegram channel that the nighttime shelling resulted in "information about seven casualties in the Kholodnohirskyi district, including a 16-year-old girl."
"The ceilings between the eighth and ninth floors of a high-rise building were damaged, and three apartments were destroyed," he said.
Russian strikes on Kharkiv
As a reminder, explosions were reported in Kharkiv around 2:30 a.m. (Kyiv time) as a result of the Russian airstrike.
Initially, the mayor's office said that a nine-story residential building in the Kholodnohirskyi district had been hit and that there was a fire and partial destruction. However, later clarification from the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration indicated that the impact occurred near a residential building, with the fire also situated close to the structure.
The mayor of Kharkiv informed that four individuals were injured in the attack by 3 a.m.
Earlier, it was reported that on October 27, explosions were heard in Kharkiv during a Russian strike with guided missiles on the evening of October 27. The city administration confirmed that Russian forces targeted a residential building in Kharkiv.
Overnight, it became known that the number of people injured in Kharkiv due to shelling on October 27 increased to 6, with impacts reported in two districts of the city.
