Russia's night missile and drone attack: Air defense operation results
Russian forces launched an aerial attack on Ukraine on the night of July 29, deploying one guided aviation missile and 10 Shahed-type kamikaze drones. Almost all enemy targets were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces, according to Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Oleshchuk, the enemy launched the KH-59/69 missile from the airspace over the occupied part of the Donetsk region.
All ten Shaheds were launched by the invaders from Cape Chauda (occupied Crimea) to strike Ukraine.
The general explained that anti-aircraft missile units and electronic warfare (EW) systems were involved in repelling the air attack. Enemy targets were shot down over the territories of three regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Kirovohrad.
"As a result of the air battle, a KH-59/69 guided missile and nine Shahed-131/136 UAVs were shot down," Oleshchuk reported.
Earlier, it was reported that on the evening of July 28, Russian occupiers launched a missile to strike the Dnipropetrovsk region, but the enemy air target was shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces.
Moreover, after midnight on July 29, the enemy launched several groups of kamikaze drones at Ukraine, triggering alerts in several regions.
By morning, it was reported that six drones were destroyed overnight in the skies over the Dnipropetrovsk region – six Shaheds and one enemy reconnaissance drone.
