Russia's most massive strike on Ukraine's Kropyvnytskyi: Consequences and details

Russian troops massively attacked Ukraine's Kropyvnytskyi with drones on the night of March 20. It was the most massive Russian attack on the city since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Details
The Russian army has been launching drones in Ukraine since the evening of March 19. According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian occupiers have launched 171 drones in total. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 75 drones. Another 63 Russian imitator drones were locally lost (without negative consequences).
The first explosions occurred in the city around 10 p.m. Residents reported on social media about a series of explosions and massive fires in the city.
The head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, Andrii Raikovych, said that this was the most massive drone attack on Kropyvnytskyi since February 24, 2022.
“Unfortunately, residential neighborhoods in Kropyvnytskyi were struck. This is the most massive Russian attack on the city since February 24, 2022. About 21 Russian drones and their wreckage came down, and in some places, drone strikes hit residential areas, the private sector, and high-rise buildings,” said Raikovych.
Consequences
According to the head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, residential buildings on Myr Street in Kropyvnytskyi were massively damaged. Windows and doors were smashed in the buildings as a result of the Russian attack.
As the State Emergency Service later clarified, the massive attack in Kropyvnytskyi damaged civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings in several districts. Windows were smashed, balconies were destroyed, and structures were damaged.
Initially, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported 8 victims, including a child. As of 7:15 a.m., the police clarified that the number of victims had increased to 10, 4 of whom were children.
All relevant services continue to work at the site of the Russian strikes in Kropyvnytskyi. Psychologists of the State Emergency Service provided assistance to 25 people. An invincibility point was deployed in the city, and the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration held a meeting at the operational headquarters.
Changes in train traffic
“Ukrainian Railways reported that the Russian strikes in Kirovohrad region damaged its infrastructure. For safety reasons, Ukrainian Railways changed the route for many trains:
- No. 53 Dnipro - Odesa;
- No. 92/60 Odesa - Kharkiv/Kramatorsk;
- No. 7 Kharkiv - Odesa;
- No. 128 Lviv - Zaporizhzhia;
- No. 52 Odesa - Zaporizhzhia.
Due to the detour routes, train traffic was to be delayed by 3 hours. Passengers were transported to the stations in the Kirovohrad region that the trains had to bypass by morning commuter trains and additional shuttles.
Train No. 790/789 Kropyvnytskyi - Kyiv departed later than scheduled due to infrastructure inspections. As of 2:30 a.m., Ukrainian Railways resumed train traffic through the station in Kropyvnytskyi.
