Unknown drones reportedly attacked Moscow on the evening of October 27, with explosions already heard in the Moscow region, according to local Telegram channels, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, and Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation.
Rumors surfaced online that drones were spotted near Moscow. Residents of Ramenskoye (30 km from Moscow) and Bronnitsy (52 km from Moscow) reported hearing explosions. Explosions were also reported in Serpukhov (about 100 km from Moscow).
Mayor Sobyanin tried to calm the residents, stating that Russian air defenses shot down two drones heading toward Moscow.
He added that emergency services are working at the incident sites.
Kovalenko noted that explosions were heard not only in the suburbs but in Moscow itself.
Drone attack on Moscow on October 26
Moscow has been targeted by drones for the second day in a row. On October 26, drones were also reported near the Russian capital.
During that attack, Russian media shared numerous photos and videos: loud explosions could be heard in the city, and smoke was visible in some of the footage.
Propaganda channels claimed that a Ukrainian drone allegedly struck a residential building. However, this was not officially confirmed.
Photos of a Russian pickup truck with a machine gun near the Kremlin also circulated online, resembling Ukrainian mobile strike units targeting Shaheds.
Today, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it intercepted nearly 200 drones, claiming that every fifth drone was heading toward Moscow.
