Russia's losses in Ukraine war surpass 1.5 million troops

On the morning of September 9, the total combat losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine surpassed 1.5 million killed and wounded, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"This is the largest loss in a single war suffered by the Russian army since World War II," Ukrainian soldiers emphasize.
Moreover, this figure exceeds the combined losses of the Soviet and Russian armies in all wars and armed conflicts of the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century.
"This is 100 times more than the USSR's losses in Afghanistan over 10 years," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasizes.
This is also 125 times more than the officially recognized losses of Russian troops in the First and Second Chechen Wars.
"Behind every recorded Russian loss is a specific occupier who came to Ukrainian soil with a weapon, as well as the titanic, daily joint work of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the entire Ukrainian people," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
