Russia's losses in Ukraine as of September 23: +1,560 troops and 1,426 drones

The latest Ukrainian estimates point to continued Russian losses in personnel, weapons, and military equipment over the past 24 hours.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to September 23, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel ‒ nearly 1,522,440 (+1,560)
- Tanks ‒ 12,367 (+3)
- Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 25,387 (+13)
- Special equipment ‒ 4,737 (+4)

Frontline situation
Ukrainian forces destroyed a Russian ammunition depot in Huliaipole, Zaporizhzhia region, in an FPV drone strike. They also struck two Russian oil refineries in Ufa and Samara, with a fire reported at the Bashneft-UNPZ refinery.
Meanwhile, Russian forces launched a major attack on the Velykoburlutska community in the Kharkiv region, using 17 aerial bombs, three drones, and rocket artillery. They also made repeated attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions but failed to advance in most areas.
