Russia's losses in Ukraine as of September 19: +1,520 troops and 73 artillery systems

Russia suffered another day of heavy battlefield losses, including hundreds of personnel casualties and dozens of tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, and other pieces of military equipment.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to September 18, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel ‒ nearly 1,516,430 (+1,520) persons
- Tanks ‒ 12,352 (+1)
- Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 25,357 (+5)
- Special equipment ‒ 4,703 (+2)
- Vehicles and fuel tanks ‒ 150,922 (+480)
- Unmanned ground vehicles ‒ 2,672 (+16)
- Artillery systems ‒ 50,011 (+73)
- MLRS ‒ 2,143 (+1)
- Air defense assets ‒ 1,657 (+11)
- Aircraft ‒ 442
- Helicopters ‒ 356
- UAVs (operational-tactical level) ‒ 524,132 (+1,816)
- Cruise missiles ‒ 5,111

Frontline situation
Ukrainian forces continued to inflict losses on Russian troops and military equipment, destroying an S-400 launcher in Russia’s Bryansk region and numerous Russian reconnaissance drones during Operation Vivaldi. The loss of reconnaissance drones reportedly helped Ukrainian forces gain an advantage in the skies and carry out covert maneuvers and assaults.
Meanwhile, Russian forces have suffered more than 10,000 troops killed and wounded for the third consecutive week, according to Estonian military intelligence.
