Russia's losses in Ukraine as of September 5: +1,200 troops and 31 artillery systems
In the past day, from September 4 to September 5, Russia lost 1,200 military personnel in its war against Ukraine. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 21 armored combat vehicles and 31 artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The overall Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to September 5, 2024, are estimated as follows:
- Personnel: approximately 621,550 (+1,200) individuals;
- Tanks: 8,624 (+6) units;
- APV (Armored personnel vehicles): 16,869 (+21) units;
- Artillery systems: 17,725 (+31) units;
- MLRS (Multiple launch rocket systems): 1,177 units;
- Air defense systems: 940 units;
- Aircraft: 368 units;
- Helicopters: 328 units;
- UAVs operational-tactical level: 14,658 (+42) units;
- Cruise missiles: 2,587 (+7) units;
- Warships/boats: 28 units;
- Submarines: 1 unit;
- Vehicles and fuel tankers: 24,044 (+37) units;
- Special equipment: 3,024 (+10) units.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 10:00 PM on September 5, 164 battles had been recorded on the front lines since the start of the day. Forty-nine of these were in the Pokrovsk direction alone. However, by evening, the Ukrainian Defense Forces had managed to repel 47 attacks, with two battles still ongoing.
Furthermore, according to the General Staff, the enemy demonstrated the most activity on five fronts, namely: Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, Kupiansk, Lyman, and Toretsk.
