Russia's losses in Ukraine as of October 4: +1,750 troops and 49 artillery systems

Over the past day, Ukrainian forces eliminated hundreds of Russian troops and destroyed or damaged dozens of pieces of military equipment and weapons, according to the new report.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to October 4, 2026, are estimated to be:

Frontline situation
Russian leader Vladimir Putin claimed that in September, Russian forces seized more than 1,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory, but the actual data show otherwise, according to an ISW report. Moreover, in September, Russian forces suffered net territorial losses of 80.81 square kilometers.
Amid Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine on the morning of October 3, five aerial targets exploded in Moldova. Based on an analysis of the data, they were identified as three missiles and two drones.
