Ukrainian forces continue to inflict losses on Russia's military across the battlefield. Ukraine's military has updated its daily tally of Russian personnel, weapons, and equipment destroyed or put out of action.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to October 2, 2026, are estimated to be:

  • Personnel ‒ nearly 1,537,390 (+1,520)
  • Tanks ‒ 12,388
  • Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 25,471 (+7)
  • Special equipment ‒ 4,780 (+6)
  • Vehicles and fuel tanks ‒ 156,309 (+422)
  • Unmanned ground vehicles ‒ 2,810 (+7)
  • Artillery systems ‒ 50,592 (+37)
  • MLRS ‒ 2,175 (+1)
  • Air defense assets ‒ 1,683
  • Aircraft ‒ 443
  • Helicopters ‒ 356
  • UAVs (operational-tactical level) ‒ 542,853 (+1,470)
  • Cruise missiles ‒ 5,126
  • Warships and boats ‒ 35
  • Submarines ‒ 2

Frontline situation

The Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to inflict record losses on Russian troops in September 2026. In total, 46,230 Russians were neutralized.

Moreover, Ukraine's Defense Forces have managed to advance north of the city of Sumy, according to ISW.
