Over the past 24 hours, from October 17 to 18, Russian forces have lost an additional 1,150 soldiers on the front line. The enemy also lost one aircraft and hundreds of drones, according to the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to October 18, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • Personnel - about 1,129,180 (+1150) Russian troops;
  • Tanks - 11,267 (+1);
  • Troop-carrying AFVs - 23,396 (+2);
  • Artillery systems - 33,789 (+41);
  • MLRS - 1,522 (+2);
  • Anti-aircraft systems - 1,228;
  • Aircraft - 428 (+1);
  • Helicopters - 346;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 71,523 (+498);
  • Cruise missiles - 3,864 (+5);
  • Warships/boats - 28;
  • Submarines - 1;
  • Vehicles and fuel tanks - 64,672 (+131);
  • Special equipment - 3,980 (+2).

Situation on the front

As of the evening of October 17, there were 111 combat engagements along the front in the past 24 hours. The hottest sector was again the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy carried out 33 attack attempts.

The General Staff also reported that on that day, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to approach Ukrainian positions near the Antonivskyi Bridge.
