Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine as of Wednesday, November 8, amounted to 780 occupiers, with the total number of casualties in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion reaching 307,640 military personnel. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces downed 10 Russian UAVs and destroyed 48 vehicles, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The overall Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022 to November 8, 2023 are estimated as follows:

  • Personnel - about 307,640 (+780 individuals);
  • Tanks - 5,301 (+8 units);
  • APV (Armored personnel vehicles) - 9,996 (+22 units);
  • Artillery systems - 7,439 (+29 units);
  • MLRS (Multiple launch rocket systems) - 872 (+3 units);
  • Anti-aircraft warfare systems - 572 (+2 units);
  • Aircraft - 322 units;
  • Helicopters - 324 units;
  • UAV operational-tactical - 5,567 (+10 units);
  • Cruise missiles - 1,556 units;
  • Warships/boats - 20 units;
  • Submarines - 1 unit;
  • Vehicles and fuel tanks - 9,814 (+47 units);
  • Special equipment - 1,054 (+5 units).

Frontline situation

According to the General Staff's data, Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operations to the south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region and conduct an offensive operation in the direction of Melitopol. There were 45 combat clashes in the past day. Specifically, as reported by the Institute of War Studies, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued their offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction and made progress. It is reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces crossed the railway near Andriivka.
