Russia's losses in Ukraine as of May 9: +1,300 troops, 1 anti-aircraft system

The Defense Forces of Ukraine have eliminated another 1,300 Russian soldiers and destroyed 4 tanks, 36 artillery systems, 1 multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), and 1 enemy air defense system, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to May 9, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 963,270 (+1,300) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 10,786 (+4);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 22,433 (+4);
- artillery systems - 27,588 (+36);
- MLRS - 1,380 (+1);
- anti-aircraft systems - 1,157 (+1);
- aircraft - 372;
- helicopters - 335 units;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 35,446 (+39);
- cruise missiles - 3,197;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 47,724 (+120);
- special equipment - 3,875.
Frontline situation
In the evening report on May 8, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that despite Russia's declared parade ceasefire, 154 combat engagements had taken place since the beginning of the day, more than the previous day.
The military command also reported that a third of all enemy assaults and attacks were recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.
