Russia's losses in Ukraine as of May 18: +1100 troops and a lot of equipment

From 17 to 18 May, the Russian army lost 1,130 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also destroyed 38 artillery systems and 91 vehicles, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to May 18, 2025, are estimated to be:
- military personnel - about 973,730 (+1130) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 10,832 (+1);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 22,557 (+4);
- artillery systems - 27,980 (+38);
- MLRS - 1,387 (+1);
- anti-aircraft systems - 1,167;
- aircraft - 372;
- helicopters - 336;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 36,385 (+107);
- cruise missiles - 3,197;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 48,900 (+91);
- special equipment - 3,892.
Situation at the front
As of 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on May 17, there were 131 combat clashes on the front during the day. The enemy was most active trying to attack in the Pokrovsk direction.
Specifically, the enemy launched 44 attacks near the settlements of Stara Mykolaivka, Yablunivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Nova Poltavka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Novoserhiivka, Troitske, and Andriivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled 38 assaults, while six clashes were still ongoing at that time.
