Frontline situation
Ukraine's Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes on key Russian military targets on May 13 and overnight into May 14. Ukrainian forces reportedly hit Russian air defense systems, communications infrastructure, logistics facilities, and a repair unit in Russia's Belgorod region as well as occupied parts of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson regions, and Crimea. Kyiv said the strikes are part of ongoing efforts to weaken Russia's command, air defense, logistics, and military support capabilities.
Meanwhile, Russian forces continue trying to advance on Kupiansk from the north, but their attacks are becoming less effective, Ukrainian military spokesman Viktor Trehubov said. According to him, Russia continues moving troops to create the appearance of progress despite limited results on the battlefield.
