Russia's losses in Ukraine as of March 8: +1,000 troops and 24 artillery systems

Over the past day, from March 7 to March 8, the Russian army has lost 1,000 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Additionally, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have destroyed 24 artillery systems, 113 vehicles, and 148 enemy UAVs, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to March 8, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 883,950 (+1,000) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks – 10,268 (+4);
- troop-carrying AFVs – 21,346 (+12);
- artillery systems – 24,148 (+24);
- MLRS – 1,307 (+1);
- air defense systems – 1,099 (+3);
- aircraft - 370;
- helicopters - 331;
- UAV operational-tactical level – 28,172 (+148);
- cruise missiles - 3,120 (+35);
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks – 39,791 (+113);
- special equipment - 3,772 (3).
As of 22:00 on March 7, there had been 109 combat clashes on the frontline since the beginning of the day. The enemy was most active in the Pokrovsk direction, where they attempted to attack Ukrainian Armed Forces positions 24 times.
"Occupying units attempted to break through our defenses 24 times near the settlements of Yelyzavetivka, Tarasivka, Nadiivka, Luch, Lysivka, Oleksiivka, Andriivka, Ulakly, and in the direction of Nova Poltavka and Pokrovsk. Airstrikes targeted Oleksandropil, Myrolyubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Pokrovsk, Zvyeryeve, and Orikhove," the General Staff reported.
