Russia's losses in Ukraine as of March 31: +970 troops and 2,296 drones

Russia has lost another 970 troops in Ukraine over the past day, bringing its total personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion to approximately 1,297,670, according to the latest data from Ukraine's General Staff.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to March 31, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel — approximately 1,297,670 (+970);
- Tanks — 11,826 (+2);
- Armored combat vehicles — 24,324 (+7);
- Artillery systems — 39,110 (+61);
- Multiple-launch rocket systems — 1,709 (+1);
- Air defense systems — 1,338 (+1);
- Aircraft — 435;
- Helicopters — 350;
- Operational-tactical UAVs — 208,827 (+2,296);
- Cruise missiles — 4,491;
- Ships/boats — 33;
- Submarines — 2;
- Automotive equipment and fuel tanks — 86,359 (+199);
- Special equipment — 4,105.

Frontline situation
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi recently reported that March figures for the number of combat sorties flown by interceptor drones and targets destroyed rose by nearly 55% compared to February. According to him, since early March, Ukrainian helicopters have destroyed 379 Russian attack drones.
In addition, Ukraine's Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov added that an experimental project involving the private sector in air defense is already underway in Ukraine. Private business in Ukraine shot down enemy drones for the first time - a private air defense group destroyed several UAVs.
