Over the past 24 hours, from March 17 to 18, Russian forces have lost 1,560 soldiers, 20 troop-carrying AFVs, and 3 air defense systems in their war against Ukraine, reports the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to March 18, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 897 010 (+1560) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 10 352 (+8);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 21 509 (+20);
  • artillery systems - 24 640 (+42);
  • MLRS - 1319 (+1);
  • air defense systems - 1107 (+3);
  • aircraft - 370;
  • helicopters - 331;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 29 616 (+149);
  • cruise missiles - 3,121;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and tanks - 40 892 (+107);
  • special equipment - 3780 (+2).

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian defense forces achieved success near Toretsk, but Russian forces advanced near Velyka Novosilka and in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Last night, Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones. Air raid alerts were declared in many regions.

Explosions were heard, particularly in the Cherkasy city area and Cherkasy region.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported the successful testing of a Ukrainian drone capable of striking at a range of 3,000 kilometers.
