The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports that Russian forces took significant losses in the past day, as Ukraine's military said fresh fighting left hundreds of enemy troops dead or injured and multiple pieces of equipment wiped out.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to June 16, 2026, are estimated to be:

  • Personnel ‒ nearly 1,385,420 (+1,230);
  • Tanks ‒ 12,026 (+1);
  • Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 24,768 (+5);
  • Special equipment ‒ 4,300 (+4);
  • Vehicles and fuel tanks ‒ 107,508 (+417);
  • Unmanned ground vehicles ‒ 1,667 (+3);
  • Artillery systems ‒ 44,118 (+36);
  • MLRS ‒ 1,872 (+2);
  • Air defense assets ‒ 1,427 (+7);
  • Aircraft ‒ 436;
  • Helicopters ‒ 353;
  • UAVs (operational-tactical level) ‒ 353,541 (+2,062);
  • Cruise missiles ‒ 4,783 (+50);
  • Warships and boats ‒ 33;
  • Submarines ‒ 2.

Frontline situation

On June 15, Ukraine damaged the Chonhar Bridge - the only short route between Crimea and mainland Ukraine - in a repeated drone attack. Russian-installed authorities report that traffic through the Dzhankoi road checkpoint was suspended.
