Russia's losses in Ukraine as of July 28: +1,560 troops and 71 artillery systems

Another day of fighting has added to Russia's mounting battlefield losses. Ukraine's military says Moscow paid a heavy price in troops and equipment over the past 24 hours.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to July 28, 2026, are estimated to be:

Frontline situation
On July 23, Russia's Rubikon unit, known for carrying out drone strikes against Ukrainian civilians, was once again targeted by Ukraine's Defense Forces. According to available information, Budanov’s Units killed three Rubikon drone pilots and injured a fourth by remotely detonating a high-explosive charge.
Ukraine's Security Service struck dozens of targets deep inside Russia over the past week, including airfields, air defense systems, an offshore oil platform and a missile boat. The operation is part of a 40-day campaign approved by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The goal of the campaign is to reduce Russia's military and economic potential.
