Russia's losses in Ukraine as of July 21: +1,370 troops and 1,865 drones

Russia's losses in Ukraine continue to climb as Ukrainian forces report new casualties and equipment destroyed on the battlefield. Ukraine's latest daily tally details losses across multiple categories of Russian military personnel and hardware.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to July 21, 2026, are estimated to be:

Frontline situation
Ukraine reported a series of successful strikes against Russian military and strategic targets between July 13 and 20.
Ukraine's Security Service said it struck a Russian Tu-95MS strategic bomber, three shadow fleet tankers, military and logistics infrastructure, and an FSB coordination center in occupied Kherson region, where around 100 personnel may have been present.
Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces reported destroying or disabling eight key Russian air defense assets in Russia's Krasnodar region and occupied Zaporizhzhia, including Tor-M2 and Buk-M1 systems and several radar stations.
Meanwhile, up to 145 Russian troops have amassed in Kostiantynivka, where Ukrainian forces continue counter-sabotage operations and drone strikes. Russia launches up to 20 attacks daily in the area, while Ukraine reported 27 Russian casualties on July 18.
