Russian tankers, oil depots and bomber hit: Ukraine's Security Service reveals new results of 40-day operation

From July 13 to 19, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) continued its systematic campaign aimed at weakening Russia's military and economic potential. The SBU targeted numerous key enemy assets, SBU reports.
Russia's strategic aviation
The Engels military airfield in Russia's Saratov region was targeted. SBU long-range drones traveled about 800 kilometers and destroyed a Tu-95MS strategic bomber. The aircraft was regularly used to carry out massive missile strikes against Ukraine. As a result of the attack, it sustained critical damage, with its tail section completely torn off.
Russia's shadow fleet
- Louise 1 tanker — SBU naval drones known as Mamai struck the sanctioned vessel, which was transporting Russian oil in circumvention of international restrictions. In 2026 alone, the tanker transported nearly 3 million tons of Urals crude.
- Banda tanker — the vessel transported Russian oil from the ports of Ust-Luga, Kerch, Novorossiysk, and Nakhodka. During the attack, Russian aircraft attempted to destroy the SBU's naval drones but failed.
- Avero tanker — the sanctioned vessel transported Russian oil, including to China and India.
Overall, the vessels were Suezmax-class tankers — large ocean-going tankers designed to transport substantial volumes of crude oil and petroleum products.
Military infrastructure and equipment
- Two Project 12150 Mangust patrol boats were destroyed in the Black Sea;
- At the Bagerove airbase in temporarily occupied Crimea, hangars containing military equipment and specialized gear were hit;
- Three stationary radar stations used by Russian forces to detect Ukrainian unmanned maritime systems and strike drones were also destroyed;
- In the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Kherson regions, strikes targeted locations where strike-drone crews were stationed. Drone storage facilities, temporary deployment sites for technical personnel, assembly facilities, and workshops were also destroyed;
- In temporarily occupied Crimea and the Luhansk region, missile and artillery weapons depots were hit. In addition, logistics supply depots, parking areas for military transport vehicles, and weapons and military equipment repair bases in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia regions were destroyed.
Fuel and energy infrastructure
- Oil depot in Vyazniki — SBU long-range drones struck the tank farm of an oil depot located approximately 600 kilometers from Ukraine's state border;
- Oil product transshipment complex at the Port of Kavkaz — three oil product storage tanks were hit.
Logistics infrastructure
- Crimea ferry terminal in Kerch — the Yeysk and Maria car ferries were hit;
- Port of Kavkaz — the Lavrentiy and Panagia car ferries were hit;
- Kavkaz freight railway station — a train carrying tank cars was hit.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Zelenskyy appointed a new acting head of the SBU.
