Frontline situation
As of the evening of January 30, Ukrainian forces repelled a Russian assault near Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, capturing prisoners, evacuating a civilian, and obtaining intelligence that helped eliminate a significant enemy group. The military said effective coordination between Joint Forces units continues to deprive Russian troops of initiative and the ability to advance.
Previously, Ukrainian officials denied Russian claims of capturing the village of Ternuvate in the Zaporizhzhia region, saying the settlement remains under Ukrainian control. The Southern Defense Forces said the village is about 15 kilometers from the front line and has not been occupied.
