Russia's losses in Ukraine as of January 22: +1,950 troops and 11 tanks
Over the past 24 hours, January 21, Russian losses in the war against Ukraine amounted to 1,950 military personnel. In particular, the Defense Forces destroyed 11 enemy tanks, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to January 22, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 823,980 (+1,950) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 9,844 (+11);
- armored personnel vehicles - 20,485 (+8);
- artillery systems - 22,194 (+60);
- MLRS - 1,262;
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1,050;
- aircraft - 369;
- helicopters - 331;
- UAVs operational-tactical level - 23,039 (+141);
- cruise missiles - 3,051;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 34,837 (+155);
- special equipment - 3,711 (+1).
Situation at frontline
As the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports, the situation at the front remains difficult. Over the past 24 hours, 121 combat clashes took place. Half of the battles were recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.
According to Viktor Trehubov, Spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of forces, Russian troops have changed their tactics for the attack on Pokrovsk. The enemy is now trying to bypass the city from the west through small villages and forest plantations.
