Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine as of Wednesday morning, January 24, amounted to 840 occupiers, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion to almost 378,660 soldiers. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 61 artillery systems, 49 vehicles, and 37 drones, according to the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.22 to 24.01.24 are estimated to be

  • personnel - about 378,660 (+840) Russians were killed;
  • tanks - 6227 (+13) units;
  • armored combat vehicles - 11,579 (+31) units;
  • artillery systems - 9,008 (+61) units;
  • MLRS - 971 (+1) units;
  • air defense systems - 659 (+2) units;
  • aircraft - 331 units;
  • helicopters - 324 units;
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 6998 (+37) units;
  • cruise missiles - 1842 (+22) units;
  • ships/boats - 23 units;
  • submarines - 1 unit;
  • motor vehicles and tankers - 12,005 (+49) units;
  • special equipment - 1,416 (+7) units.

Frontline situation

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 56 combat engagements took place in Ukraine. In total, the enemy launched 48 missile and 112 air strikes. Ukrainian defenders continue to expand their foothold in the Kherson direction.

In particular, according to the Institute for War Studies, positional fighting continue:

  • northwest of Avdiivka in the area of Novobakhmutivka and Stepove;
  • west of Avdiivka in the area of Pivnichne;
  • south of Avdiivka in the area of Opytne;
  • south-west of Avdiivka in the area of Pervomaiske and Nevelske;
  • in the area of Avdiivka itself.
