Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine as of Tuesday morning, January 2, amounted to another 810 occupiers. The overall number of casualties in the Russian army since the invasion began is approximately 360,820 military personnel. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed 7 tanks, 13 armored vehicles, and 49 enemy artillery systems, according to the Ukrainian General Staff.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022 to January 2, 2024 are estimated as follows:

- Artillery systems: 8,531 (+49) units;

Frontline situation
According to the General Staff, there were 64 military clashes on the Ukrainian front over the past day. The defense forces continue to restrain the enemy, which persists in its attempts to encircle Avdiivka.
The defense forces are expanding their foothold on the Kherson direction. Despite significant losses, the enemy is not giving up attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions.
