Russia continues to lose manpower and equipment as Ukrainian armed forces keep fighting. According to Ukraine's General Staff, 920 Russian troops were killed and wounded in the last day alone.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to February 24, 2026, are estimated to be:

  • Personnel — approximately 1,261,420 (+920);
  • Tanks — 11,698 (+2);
  • Armored combat vehicles — 24,086 (+4);
  • Artillery systems — 37,560 (+50);
  • Multiple-launch rocket systems — 1,654;
  • Air defense systems — 1,305 (+1);
  • Aircraft — 435;
  • Helicopters — 348;
  • Operational-tactical UAVs — 145,571 (+1,693);
  • Cruise missiles — 4,347;
  • Ships/boats — 29;
  • Submarines — 2;
  • Automotive equipment and fuel trucks — 79,826 (+190);
  • Special equipment — 4,074 (+1).

Frontline situation

Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated 8 settlements and about 400 square kilometers of territory during the offensive in the south.

Also, on February 23, the Ukrainian military hit several important Russian military targets, including a missile division, a drone control point, and warehouses.
