Frontline situation

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia is losing nearly 200 soldiers killed or seriously wounded for every kilometer of occupied Ukrainian territory, arguing that Moscow is paying an unsustainable human cost despite claims of battlefield gains. He stressed that Ukraine is not losing the war and that Russian advances over the past six months have come at extremely high casualties.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's Security Service reported that its Alpha special forces unit had destroyed about half of Russia's Pantsir air defense systems in 2025 through long-range strikes. The SBU estimates the total value of Russian air defense systems eliminated this year at roughly $4 billion, aiming to weaken enemy defenses and open corridors for deeper strikes.

General Staff reported that Ukraine's Defense Forces struck several key Russian military targets in temporarily occupied territories, targeting equipment, communications systems, and logistics infrastructure. On February 12, Ukrainian forces hit a BK-16 assault boat near Novozerne in Crimea and an RSP-10 radar station near Hvardiiske.
