Over the last day, from December 17 to 18, the Russian army lost 1,580 soldiers. The Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 21 Russian armored combat vehicles, 60 vehicles, and 64 drones, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to December 18, 2024, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 766,690 (+1,580) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 9,571 (+4);
  • armored personnel vehicle - 19,772 (+21);
  • artillery systems - 21,164 (+5);
  • MLRS - 1,256;
  • anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1,025;
  • airplanes - 369;
  • helicopters - 329;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 20,470 (+64);
  • cruise missiles - 2,943;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 31,610 (+60);
  • special equipment - 3,652 (+2).

Yesterday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrski, said that the Ukrainian army is conducting active combat operations on the frontline, which is 1,170 kilometers long.

He noted that the most difficult situation is currently in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. Russia has also intensified its offensive in the Kramatorsk, Toretsk, and Vremivka sectors.

The situation in the south of the country is tense but under control. As for the Orikhiv and Prydniprovskyi directions, Russia's offensives are of low intensity.
