Russia's losses in Ukraine as of December 3: +1,780 troops, 23 artillery systems, 31 drones
During the day from December 2 to December 3, the Russian army lost 1,780 soldiers, 8 tanks, and 22 armored combat vehicles at the front, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to December 3, 2024, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 745,700 (+1,780) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 9,486 (+8);
- armored personnel vehicle - 19,419 (+22);
- artillery systems - 20,976 (+23);
- MLRS - 1,253;
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1,019;
- aircraft - 369;
- helicopters - 329;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 19,917 (+31);
- cruise missiles - 2,855 (+3);
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- motor vehicles and fuel tanks - 30,666 (+60);
- special equipment - 3,627 (+8).
Situation at front and Russian drone attacks
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Ukrainian Defense Forces were successful near Chasiv Yar. However, Russians are actively storming Ukrainian positions in three directions in the Donetsk region.
At night, Russia again attacked Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones.
Some of the Russian drones reached the western regions. In Ternopil, a Russian drone damaged a critical infrastructure facility, and the city is partially without power.
There are also reports of Shahed damaging a critical infrastructure facility in the Rivne region.
