Russia's losses in Ukraine as of December 23: 1,040 troops and over 15 tanks

Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine, as of Saturday, December 23, amounted to 1,040 occupiers. The overall number of casualties in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is approximately 352,390 military personnel according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat losses of the adversary from February 24, 2022, to December 23, 2023, are estimated as follows:
- Personnel: Approximately 352,390 (+1,040) individuals eliminated
- Tanks: 5,854 (+17) units
- Armored fighting vehicles: 10,871 (+28) units
- Artillery systems: 8,286 (+36) units
- Multiple launch rocket systems (RSZV): 932 units
- Anti-aircraft missile systems: 611 units
- Aircraft: 327 (+3) units
- Helicopters: 324 units
- Tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (BPLA): 6,384 (+19) units
- Cruise missiles: 1,613 units
- Ships/boats: 22 units
- Submarines: 1 unit
- Automotive vehicles and tankers: 10,995 (+51) units
- Specialized equipment: 1,223 (+6) units.
Frontline situation
According to the report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian forces:
- conducted positional battles east of Klishchiivka, the Donetsk region;
- continued positional battles in the western part of the Zaporizhzhia region;
- maintain their positions on the left bank of the Kherson region.
According to the data of the General Staff of Ukraine, during the past day, the military repelled 40 enemy attacks in the Avdiivka direction, and also continue to wear down the enemy in the Melitopol direction.
