Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 6: +over 1,000 troops and 52 artillery systems

Over the past day, from August 5 to 6, Russian forces lost another 1,010 soldiers on the front line. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 52 artillery systems and 138 vehicles, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat losses of the Russian forces from February 24, 2022, to August 6, 2025, are approximately as follows:
- personnel - about 1,059,270 (+1,010) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 11,072 (+1);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 23,091;
- artillery systems - 31,133 (+52);
- MLRS - 1,455 (+3);
- anti-aircraft systems - 1,203;
- aircraft - 421;
- helicopters - 340;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 49,767 (+147);
- cruise missiles - 3,555;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 57,475 (+136);
- special equipment - 3,936 (+1).
Situation on the front lines
By the evening of August 5, a total of 113 combat engagements had taken place on the front over the day. The heaviest fighting was recorded in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Novopavlivka directions.
