Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 28: +880 troops and 40 artillery systems

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to repel Russian invaders. In the past 24 hours alone, on August 27, Ukrainian defenders eliminated another 880 Russian troops, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to August 28, 2025, are approximately as follows:
- Personnel - approximately 1,079,630 (+880) Russian troops were eliminated;
- Tanks - 11,139 (+4);
- Troop-carrying AFVs - 23,185 (+7);
- Artillery systems - 32,064 (+40);
- MLRS - 1,474 (+2);

Situation on the front line
Over the past day, Russia has launched 56 air strikes on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas with 84 guided bombs. There were 1,647 suicide drone strikes, and Russia carried out 3,554 artillery attacks.
6 combat clashes took place in the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions. Over the past day, Russia carried out 165 artillery strikes, including 4 with multiple launch rocket systems, carried out 12 air strikes, and dropped 23 guided bombs. Ukrainian units successfully repelled 3 attacks in the South-Slobozhanskyi direction, and 2 combat engagements continue near Vovchansk and Kamianka.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russia attempted to break through to Ukrainian positions 6 times, with 4 attacks still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Russia carried out twenty attacks, 9 of which are still ongoing.
Intense fighting also took place in the Siversk, Toretsk, and Pokrovsk directions, where Ukrainian defenders are successfully repelling Russian assaults.
