Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 13: +1,310 troops and 1,634 drones

New battlefield figures show Russian forces continuing to lose troops and military equipment in Ukraine, according to Ukraine’s Defense Ministry.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to August 13, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel - nearly 1,462,970 (+1,310)
- Tanks ‒ 12,262 (+3)
- Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 25,130 (+3)
- Special equipment ‒ 4,522 (+6)

Frontline situation
Ukrainian forces inflicted heavy losses on Russian troops and military equipment in July, with Russia suffering its highest monthly personnel losses since January 2025, according to Ukraine's Defense Ministry. July ranked among Ukraine's most successful months of the full-scale war in terms of Russian manpower losses.
Ukraine's Defense Forces struck Russia's naval base in Novorossiysk overnight on August 12, damaging four Russian warships, according to Ukraine's General Staff. The vessels include two Project 11356 frigates, a Buyan-M missile ship, and a Vasily Bykov-class patrol ship.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces have made gains in the Oleksandrivka direction, inflicting significant losses on Russian troops and expanding the territory under Ukrainian control. Since January, Ukrainian forces have liberated 26 villages across the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions, while Air Assault Forces units recently regained control of additional territory.
