Frontline situation
According to the ISW report, the pace of the Russian advance in March 2026 significantly slowed, reaching the lowest levels since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine. Among the key factors are the Ukrainian Armed Forces' local counteroffensive operations in the southeast.
Despite this, Russian troops are not abandoning the offensive and aim to create a buffer zone in the Dnipropetrovsk region, says Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone operators destroyed the Russian new compact satellite communication station Spirit-030 for the first time. They are harder to detect due to their smaller antennas.
