Frontline situation

Russia is deploying additional assault-oriented units to the southern front, including the 120th Marine Division under the 29th Army, as part of preparations for renewed offensive operations, according to Vladyslav Voloshyn. The division is expected to receive significant personnel and equipment reinforcements and may operate toward Pokrovske in the Dnipropetrovsk region to block Ukrainian counterattacks and regain the initiative. At the same time, Russian forces are strengthening positions in the Huliaipole sector with additional Pacific Fleet marine units, signaling plans to expand their offensive deeper into the Zaporizhzhia region.

Russia is attempting to establish a 20-km buffer zone in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions but has made little progress, according to Viktor Tregubov. The effort has resulted only in limited incursions rather than sustained control. He added that this direction is not a priority for Moscow, with focus remaining on Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia.
