Ukrainian defenders eliminated another 1,530 Russian occupiers per day, and also destroyed 8 tanks, 40 armored personnel carriers, and 88 artillery systems of the enemy, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to April 18, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 938,970 (+1,530) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 10,662 (+8);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 22,257 (+40);
  • artillery systems - 26,530 (+88);
  • MLRS - 1,367 (+1);
  • anti-aircraft systems - 1,136 (+1);
  • aircraft - 370;
  • helicopters - 335;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 33,065 (+140);
  • cruise missiles - 3,145;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 44,954 (+312);
  • special equipment - 3,858 (+51).

Situation at front

As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the evening update on April 17, 114 combat clashes have occurred at the front since the beginning of the previous day.

Ukrainian Defense Forces of Ukraine also noted that the Russian occupiers continued to pressure the Pokrovsk direction.

A report by analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) published on April 18 stated that the Ukrainian defenders had advanced near Toretsk. Meanwhile, advances by the Russian invaders have been recorded near Kupiansk, Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, Velyka Novosilka, Toretsk, in the west of the Zaporizhzhia region, and the Kursk region.
