Russia’s Foreign Minister says Trump has invitation to visit Russia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says Donald Trump received an invitation to visit Moscow, the Russian news agency TASS reports.
In addition, Lavrov clarified in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel that during the recent contacts between US and Russian delegations in Alaska, the sanctions issue was not raised.
On August 15, during a press briefing, President Vladimir Putin suggested to Trump that the next meeting could be held in Moscow.
The American President initially avoided giving a direct answer.
Later, Trump acknowledged the suggestion, calling it “interesting,” though he noted that he might face criticism for taking such a step.
Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska
On August 16, Trump and Putin held talks in Alaska.
The three-on-three meeting lasted nearly three hours at a military base in Anchorage. It was expected that following the three-on-three format, there would be a lunch and a delegation-level meeting; however, Trump and Putin immediately went to the press.
After the talks, Trump held discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and EU leaders, reaffirming the desire for a direct peace agreement between Kyiv and Moscow.
Furthermore, security guarantees for Ukraine were also discussed.
