Russia's devastating strike on Ukraine's Chernihiv home kills woman and child

On the morning of August 26, Russians struck Chernihiv, causing a fire in a private residential building—the fire destroyed it, according to the Chernihiv City Council.
Russian strike also damaged outbuildings. In addition, a nearby store caught fire.
According to preliminary reports, three people were inside the private home during the Russian attack. A 14-year-old girl was hospitalized.
During the search operation, rescue workers discovered the bodies of a 49-year-old woman and a 4-year-old girl.

August 26 has been declared a Day of Mourning in Chernihiv for the victims.
The Ukrainian national flag with a black ribbon will be flown at half-mast on the buildings of government agencies, local self-government bodies, enterprises, institutions, and organizations.

Entertainment and concert events in the city have also been canceled.

The playing of entertainment music in markets, stores, restaurants, and on public transportation is also prohibited.
On August 25, the Russians also launched drone strikes on Chernihiv; children are among the wounded.
