Russia's defeat achievable: Estonian MoD presents Ukraine's victory strategy
Ukraine could win the war against Russia within the next three years by increasing the volumes of military production for its Armed Forces and by imposing the prospect of intolerable levels of attrition on Russia, according to the Ministry of Defense of Estonia.
"In 1989, the fall of the Berlin Wall paved the way for a Europe ‘whole, free, and at peace’ – a vision set forth by President George H. W. Bush a few months earlier. The prospect that had been denied to generations before has thereafter evolved into the greatest success story for hundreds of millions of Europeans. Today, this very aspiration is at stake in Ukraine," the statement reads.
The Ministry of Defense has emphasized that falling into a state of despair is easy, especially as Russia continues to wage a brutal war for the second year. Its desire to cause and sustain destruction seems endless, and its military resources appear boundless.
Defeat of Russia is achievable
The Estonian Defense Ministry highlights that Ukraine's victory and Russia's defeat in this war are achievable.
They indicate that this war can be won within the next three years or less by adjusting and increasing the volumes of military production by the Euro-Atlantic community and aiding Ukraine. This includes imposing the prospect of unbearable levels of attrition on Russia.
"A renewed strategy for providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine the necessary training and military equipment will bring about the conditions for defeating Russia’s imperialist theory of victory. With Ukraine’s admirable fighting spirit and the transatlantic community’s unparalleled military-technological advantage and resources, Ukraine’s victory will come at a fraction of the cost in comparison to the alternative consequences," the Estonian Defense Ministry wrote.
Іnvestments in the defense sector will bolster NATO's authority
Estonia has stated that accelerated and substantial investments in defense industrial production, which are crucial for Ukraine, will fundamentally contribute to strengthening NATO's authority, capability, and readiness to deter and protect the Euro-Atlantic region and beyond its borders.
This military strategy will yield a renewed and robust vision of peace and strength combined with a revitalized Ukraine, which stands independent, sovereign, fully free, and thrives as a new member of the European Union and NATO.
"Ending Russia’s war in Ukraine with Ukraine’s victory and Russia’s defeat is the single possible first step towards this aim," they added at the end.
Previous statements on Ukraine's victory
Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine needed three main victories that would drive its fight against Russia.
Additionally, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, mentioned that the primary task for Ukrainians remained victory and returning to the borders of 1991, even if it took longer than desired.
Yesterday, President Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine had to continue to fight because the more Russia retreated, the weaker it would become.
