The Russian Black Sea Fleet has placed its units on high combat alert. The Russians fear massive attacks ahead of the anniversary of the strike on the Crimean Bridge on October 8, according to the Atesh partisan movement.
The fleet command has ordered military units to patrol the waters more frequently. Personnel are also to conduct more intensive training exercises to repel threats from the sea.
Separately, the military has been instructed to refine coordination between drone operators, air defense units, electronic warfare units, and patrol boat crews.
The Russian command expects the Defense Forces to step up their activities on symbolic dates, particularly on the anniversary of the strike on the Crimean Bridge on October 8.
However, the navy fears not so much a repeat strike on the bridge as combined attacks on ships at their bases, along logistics routes, and on vessels of the shadow fleet.
Since then, Russia has been heavily fortifying the structure. In June 2026, updated Google Maps images showed that the bridge had been surrounded by defensive structures on all sides.
The Black Sea Fleet has suffered no less severe losses. According to the Ministry of Defense, as of early 2026, Russia had lost or severely damaged about 30% of the fleet’s combat strength.
The situation on the peninsula remains tense these days. On October 2, following explosions in occupied Crimea, selective power outages were implemented, citing the risk of overloading the power grid.
