Russia restricts operation of several airports: Moscow region, Kaluga, and beyond

In several regions of Russia, airports suspended operations overnight and early in the morning, imposing a ban on the arrival and departure of flights. This includes airports in the Moscow region, Kaluga region, and Krasnodar Krai, according to the Russian edition Astra.
Russian media reported that Rosaviation issued an order to implement the Carpet plan for Vnukovo International Airport, which is considered one of the four main airports in Moscow.
Additionally, it became known in the morning that the operation of the airport in Kaluga had also been restricted.
Carpet plan in Russia is announced in case of a threat to aircraft or if airspace violations are detected. Essentially, this means a closed sky regime.
Earlier, the operation at the Sochi airport in the Krasnodar Krai was also suspended during the night due to an air attack. A strong fire broke out at the local oil refinery in Tuapse during what appeared to be drone strikes in the city that night.
Updated: Carpet plan has been canceled for Vnukovo
Rosaviatsiya later confirmed the temporary restrictions on operations at Vnukovo Airport in the Moscow region. This information was shared by local media outlets.
The last time the Carpet plan was activated was during a drone attack on the Kaluga airport during the night of March 12-13.
During that incident, long-range drones from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense targeted a drone manufacturing facility in Kaluga, which had been camouflaged on the premises of another factory.
