On the night of Thursday, April 4, unidentified drones attacked Russia. As a result, Russian air defense systems operated in eleven regions, the Russian Ministry of Defense reports.

According to the government office, from 9:00 p.m. (Moscow time) on April 3 to 5:00 a.m. (Moscow time) on April 4, their air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 107 aircraft-type drones.

Where the drones were shot down:

  • 34 over the Kursk region;
  • 30 over the Oryol region;
  • 18 over the Lipetsk region;
  • 7 over the Kaluga region;
  • 4 over the Rostov region;
  • 4 over the Azov Sea area;
  • 3 drones over the Tambov region;
  • 3 drones over the Moscow region;
  • 2 drones over the Bryansk region;
  • 1 drone over the Voronezh region;
  • 1 drone over the Tula region.

Furthermore, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that one of the unidentified drones attempted to attack the Russian capital but was allegedly shot down. According to eyewitnesses, the sound of an explosion was heard in the Filimonkovsky district, Voronovsky, and Pervomaisky settlements in New Moscow.

Drone attacks on Moscow

Drones attacked Moscow and the Moscow region on the night of March 14. Eyewitnesses reported that explosions were heard in the Russian capital and several settlements in the Moscow suburbs.

Earlier, on March 11, Russia reported its largest drone attack since the beginning of the war against Ukraine. In particular, Moscow and the Moscow region were primarily targeted.
