Russia reports alleged drone attack on Moscow: Airport operations suspended

Russia reports alleged attack by unknown drones on Moscow, airport operations disrupted, according to Lenta.ru and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin’s Telegram.
Sobyanin reported for several hours that Russian air defenses were allegedly shooting down drones flying toward Moscow. He claimed that a total of 21 drones had already been "downed."
The mayor clarified that emergency services specialists were working at the "sites where debris fell."
At the same time, Russian media reports that more than 60 flights at Moscow airports were delayed.
It is also specified that the "Carpet" emergency regime (a military alert activated when drones are detected approaching an area) was introduced over Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports.
Information has also appeared online that some Russians have been unable to depart from Sheremetyevo Airport for as long as six hours.
Attack on Moscow on the night of January 1
On the night from December 31 to January 1, according to rumors, unidentified drones were flying toward Moscow, which led to the closure of one of the capital’s airports.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said that air defense forces had allegedly shot down a drone heading toward the city, noting that emergency services were working at the site where the debris fell.
At the same time, public Telegram channels reported a drone raid and the closure of Domodedovo Airport.
Meanwhile, on the night of January 1, the Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out strikes on a number of important enemy targets.
In Russia’s Krasnodar region, the Ilsky oil refinery was hit, with strike drones recorded hitting the facility and a fire breaking out on its territory.
There was also a strike on the Almetyevsk oil treatment facility in the Republic of Tatarstan.
In addition, strikes were carried out against enemy targets in the Donetsk region. Near Donetsk, a Shahed storage depot was hit; near the settlement of Shevchenko, a Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system was struck; near Ilovaisk, a fuel and lubricants depot of Russia’s 51st Army was hit; and near Avdiivka, a command-and-observation post of an assault detachment of the 68th Tank Regiment was struck.
