Russia reduces consular staff in Norway to two

On Monday, the Russian Embassy in Norway announced a reduction of its consular staff to two people, according to Reuters.
"In accordance with a demand from the Norwegian side for reductions by 17th October 2024, the embassy's diplomatic contingent in its consular section will be reduced to only two diplomats," the statement said.
As a result, the volume of consular services will be reduced.
It should be noted that the Norwegian government recently approved the allocation of up to 967 million kroner (approximately $87.5 million) for four new projects aimed at increasing production capacity.
The Norwegian government is also considering building a fence along the border with Russia to manage a potential influx of refugees from the Russian side.
Meanwhile, Norway will no longer automatically grant asylum to Ukrainian refugees arriving from the western part of Ukraine.
