Russia recruits mercenaries from North Korea to man checkpoints - NRC
Russia is not directly involving mercenaries from South Korea in combat operations in the Kursk region. Instead, the aggressor state is keeping them in a second echelon, reports the National Resistance Center (NRC).
According to the report, North Korean soldiers have been subordinated to Russia’s 11th Air Assault Brigade. Currently, they are tasked with manning observation posts and checkpoints, as well as guarding areas where enemy forces are concentrated.
“However, mercenaries are not currently involved in direct combat operations,” the statement noted.
The National Resistance Center (NRC) emphasized that the presence of North Korean troops has allowed the Kremlin to redeploy more Russian soldiers to the front lines.
The CNS also urged the public to continue providing any information that could assist Ukraine’s Defense Forces in countering enemy activities effectively.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that Russia is supplying North Korea with missile and nuclear technology. In exchange, North Korea is sending soldiers to Russia.
