The blowing up of Ukrainian army recruitment centers, police stations, and car arsons is the work of Russian special services. Most often, Russia recruits young people for terrorist attacks, according to Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

“The explosions inside and near the premises of the Ukrainian army recruitment centers, and police departments, and the arson of military vehicles are a targeted campaign by the Russian special services against Ukraine. Unfortunately, some of our citizens are becoming an instrument of the enemy in search of quick money,” Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.

He noted that law enforcement officers had conducted an analysis and made a portrait of the person who most often commits such crimes.

“The main thing is age. As a rule, these are young people. Teenagers and very young people under the age of 22-23. Russian special services attract them with ads for easy part-time work,” Klymenko said.

The Minister added that Ukrainians recruited by the Russian special services mostly do not receive money for committing crimes. But they will face a trial and a real sentence.

“The National Police, together with the Security Service, are working effectively in this direction, and the percentage of solving such crimes is quite high. Yes, some of the plans of the Russian special services have been realized. People have suffered. But we managed to prevent even more such terrorist attacks,” the Interior Minister said.

Explosions in Ukrainian army recruitment centers

On February 1, an explosion occurred in Rivne in the building of the Ukrainian army recruitment center, killing one person and injuring six others. Later, the Security Service of Ukraine reported that Russia had recruited a 21-year-old Ukrainian to commit a terrorist attack. When he came to the Ukrainian army recruitment center, Russian special services blew up their agent.

A similar incident occurred in Kamianets-Podilskyi on February 5. A man detonated a device on the territory of the Ukrainian army recruitment center. He was killed and four other people were injured. Among them were two doctors, a serviceman, and an employee of the Ukrainian army recruitment center.

The Security Service of Ukraine appealed to Ukrainians regarding the explosions at the Ukrainian army recruitment centers. Citizens were urged to report attempts to recruit by Russian special services.
