Russia pushes across entire frontline, but Ukraine has success near Pokrovsk - ISW maps

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding off the enemy in many sectors of the front despite Russian attempts to seize more Ukrainian territory, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports.
On August 24, Russian forces continued offensive operations in the north of the Sumy region but achieved no confirmed progress. Russian milbloggers wrote that Russian troops had reached the southern outskirts of Yunakivka (northeast of the city of Sumy). However, according to Ukraine's Dnipro Grouping of the Armed Forces, Ukrainian defenders repelled an attack by what was likely a limited Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group attempting to cross the international border near Prokhody.
In addition, Russian troops recently advanced in the north of the Kharkiv region, in the central part of Vovchansk. On August 23 and 24, the Russian army attacked northeast of Kharkiv near Zelenyi, Vovchansk, and Synelnykove.
Also, on August 23 and 24, Russian forces continued offensive operations northeast of Velykyi Burluk near Ambarne and Khatnie but made no advances.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops continued offensive operations but achieved no confirmed progress. A Ukrainian battalion commander operating in the Kupiansk sector stated that Russian forces are unable to transfer equipment or motorcycles across the Oskil River for operations northeast of Kupiansk due to Ukrainian strikes, and that Russian troops are forced to cross the river in groups of 10–20 on makeshift boats.
A similar situation is observed in the Siversk, Toretsk, and Chasiv Yar directions.
As for the Pokrovsk axis, according to ISW analysts, Ukrainian forces advanced: Ukrainian defenders liberated Mykhailivka (east of Pokrovsk) and moved south of Myrne (northeast of Mykhailivka) and north of Myroliubivka (slightly south of Mykhailivka). Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated on August 24 that Ukrainian troops recaptured Mykhailivka after successful counterattacks.
Russian troops continued limited ground attacks in the Kherson direction on August 23 and 24, but did not advance.
As previously reported, as of 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on August 24, there had been 128 combat clashes on the front within the day. The Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest.
In the 24 hours from August 24 to 25, Russia lost another 910 soldiers in battles against Ukraine. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 40 enemy artillery systems, 121 drones, and 81 military vehicles.
