The Russian forces are trying to equip the Kerch airport in temporarily occupied Crimea for the launch of Shahed kamikaze drones, according to the Skhemy project.

Skhemy obtained satellite images of the airport from June of this year. The images show that the Russian forces are converting the airport for military purposes.

In particular, a comparison of the images from February and June 2025 showed that fortification and camouflage structures have appeared on the airport grounds.

"It is quite likely that this is a technical base intended for assembling, storing, and launching UAVs. The camouflage structures, approximately 12 by 9 meters in size, are suitable for sheltering equipment, UAV assembly sites, as well as for air defense missile systems such as the Pantsir-S1 or Tor-M2," aviation expert Anatolii Khrapchynskyi told Skhemy.

Drone attacks

Russia uses kamikaze drones daily to strike Ukraine.

Specifically, during the night of June 10, the enemy launched 315 strike drones. Most of them targeted Kyiv.

Drones also attacked Odesa, where a maternity hospital was hit. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries.
