In the context of the ongoing operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region, there is a noted redeployment of certain Russian military formations to this area, according to Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Major General Pat Ryder.

Pat Ryder described the number of Russian forces being redirected to the Kursk region as relatively small.

He stated that the US Department of Defense is observing signs that Russia is moving a small number of forces into the Kursk region, to respond.

Additionally, he mentioned that the American side continues to see some Ukrainian advances in this region.

However, the Pentagon representative did not specify which exact Russian forces are being moved in this direction, nor whether they are being redeployed from the front lines in Ukraine or other regions within the aggressor country.

On August 15, the White House stated that the Russian army had redeployed some of its units, which had been fighting in Ukraine, to the Kursk region.
